Tamil (Sri Lanka) pack for Moodle 1.8+ has been released. Almost all the interface translation is complete and the help files also done.
As we informed before the Manuals also done for Moodle 1.8 in both Sinhala and Tamil.
Now we have a complete solution for Moodle 1.8+

Moodle 1.8+ pack has been released today

Moodle 1.8+ Sri Lankan Tamil translation is almost done and its now up-streamed.

Earlier there were some errors and now all those were corrected.

Now Moodle does provide a new script to check the syntax errors of the language pack. Check :  http://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-14152

 

The Language coordinator was saying that, this validator will be integrated with Moodle’s translation tool soon.

Moodle Localization in Sri Lanka

Moodle Tamil Localization - (ta_LK)
University of Moratuwa localizing the Moodle 1.8 + into Sri Lanka Tamil language and this project is funded by DEMP (an ICT initiative of Ministry of Education). Presently almost 80% of interface localization and the 75% of help files translations are done.
Moodle teacher manual and Moodle student manual for Tamil are also done at University of Moratuwa and those are available at Moodle.org manual site (http://docs.moodle.org/en/Moodle_manuals).

A parallel Tamil Moodle localization is happening at UCSC and they are mostly concentrating on interface localization.

Moodle Sinhala Localization (Si_LK)
Earlier the Sinhala localization was started at Open University by Harsha Balasooriya and now its looking after jointly by Harsha and UCSC. Now both interface and help files localization are done for Moodle 1.8 +.

A manual for Teacher and Student have been released st University of Moratuwa and now those are on Moodle.org site (http://docs.moodle.org/en/Moodle_manuals).
